HISTORY

Don Carlos Putruele, son of Italian immigrants, settled in "San Juan de la Frontera" in the 50s and dedicated to wine making. Having his own production, he founded the winery in 1958 in the Tulum Valley with a steady growth in the production of grapes and wines. By the late 80s he initiated the conversion of vineyards with the incorporation of superior Quality technology for the wineproduction.
Today the family continues keeping up with the uprising work, steadily improving in the pursuit of excellence, promoting exportation and developing high quality products.

1950

First grape plantations where Putruele Winery is currently located in the town of San Martin, San Juan.

1960

The winery worked as transferor of ordinary wine.

1970

Production grows and new vineyards are developed on farms in Angaco and St. Lucia, both owned by the firm.

1980

Vineyards of fine grapes were planted with a view to its own distillation unit.

1990

In 1997 the first bottling machine was incorporated. Since then, the winery has been constantly renewed, incorporating the latest technology for the production of fine wines.

2000

Stainless steel tanks were acquired for a total of 1,500,000 litres of wine.

2014

The Winery recently incorporated  to its facilities the most advanced sparkling technology in the province in order to produce boosting sparkling wines in its already diversified portfolio. Today the winery has all the equipment for the preparation of sparkling wines.
